Archaeologists have discovered a new Egyptian pyramid buried under the sands in Egypt. The pyramid, which is 4,300 years old, is believed to belong to Queen Sesheshet, the mother of Pharaoh Teti, who was the founder of the Egyptian dynasty.
Earlier it stood as tall as five stories, but is now buried under 23 feet of sand. This is the second tomb found in Saqqara, which happens to be an ancient royal burial complex situated near present day Cairo. The area of the pyramid was considered to be a place for sand. Only tomb robbers knew that there was a pyramid, who placed a shaft into the funerary chamber.
On account of the tomb robbers, one may not be able to find the mummy of the Queen. But archaeologists will be able to find inscriptions telling us about the queen. Her name Seshat means goddess of writing and history.
This might be the most complete subsidiary pyramid according to Zahi Hawaas, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities in Egypt.

Surgery definitely is a drastic step but obesity too, should be avoided. The gastric bypass surgery reduces the small intestine to one third of its original size so that one can eat less.
The Harmful Effects
The operation fails in 15% cases.
The patients start eating a lot of snacks. They eat a lot of sugary stuff that in turn leads to dumping syndrome in which the body feels dizzy, one complains of flushing, nauseating and excessive sweating.
Diet Drinks and Preservatives
All the cola companies ask you to buy their 0 calorie drinks and people buy them think that they are not consuming calories so what’s the harm in it? The harm is the ingredients of these fluids help the body acquire more fat, that is, you start gaining fat from other foods because your body becomes more receptive to it. The same goes for preservatives in foods.
What To Avoid?
Any form of carbohydrates is to be avoided. Therefore, say no to breads, pasta and potatoes.
What To Include?
Fresh vegetables and fruits are always on the list.
Save The Kids
It becomes very important to save the kids before they are headed the wrong way. Actually, choosing good food is a habit which can be inculcated in kids from a very young age. Children follow their parents, so, if they find their parents following a certain kind of diet they do the same. Remember there is another good side to it. Trying to be an example would mean you are going to stay in shape also.

Most of us know that platypuses are unique because they are mammals (echidnas also lay eggs) but they also lay eggs. They live only in the Australian continent. However, even if you leave that, they still can be fascinating because of certain facts about their ways.
Read on to know more about them:
- When it was first discovered many scientists that the discovery was some kind of a hoax
The animal is a combination of a duck (webbed feet and bill), an otter (fur and body) and a beaver (its tail).
- Male platypuses are poisonous. With their sharp spikes on the heels of their rear feet they can give quite a toxic blow to their enemies.
- Platypuses hunt for their food under water. They have skin folds that provide protection to their eyes and ears from water. They swim a beaver.
- A platypus can stay under water without breathing for a couple of minutes.
- A platypus can sense food with its bill. They love to eat larvae, insects, shellfish and worms.
- Platypuses do not have teeth. They take in gravel with their food which helps them to chew. They have cheek pouches for this purpose.
- They lay eggs which hatch within ten days. Platypus kids are as small as lima beans. Mother platypuses take care of them for four months (which is quite long for animals) till they can swim on their own.
- In spite of their webbed feet they can run pretty well on the land.

A new study had to say something good about global warming. It says that human beings have been able to put off the possibility of a second ice age (that was supposed to come in some thousand years) by contributing to global warming.
However, scientists do not think that it is good news as this means a very unusual climate condition.
The imminent Ice Age was supposed to cover the countries of Europe, Asia and Canada in about a million years but with the kind of climate change that day may never come.
Swinging Temperatures Shaking The Future
The fear is the new high and low temperatures that disturb the ice sheets in the northern parts of the world, from forming. This constantly changing temperature will give the climate of the earth to change greatly. This has been found out by Crowley with his colleague by using their computer model.
What Could Be The Result?
There will be no glaciers in our future; however, there will be ice caps in the polar region, such a thing has never happened in the history of Geology; therefore, there are no analogies to this. Scientists are baffled at their own find and can not imagine such a condition.
Asia would also be under some three and a half kilometers of ice along with Europe. This is a new result which was not found with the earlier conditions.
The Validity of the Test
Many scientists are not willing to subscribe to this find and are preparing for further tests too be done.

After a search of two decades archeologists have been able to unearth a new pyramid at Saqqara in Cairo. This tomb is of a queen’s who lived more than 4,300 years ago. The place from where it has been excavated is an antique burial compound.
Who Is She?
It is believed to be of Pharaoh Teti’s mother, Queen Seshehet. They belonged to the 6th Egyptian dynasty.
The Lost Pyramid
The pyramid originally was almost as tall as five stories, now it is under the cover of 7 meters of sand. With the discovery of this, the total number of tombs discovered around that of Teti’s become three.
More Surprises
No one knows how many secrets still lay under the sands of Egypt because quite unexpectedly the archeologists also dug out the remains of the limestone casing of the tomb also. This discovery proves that the pyramid was almost 46 feet and 72 feet at the base.
The archeologists are baffled at the discovery of this new tomb as after the excavation of the two tombs of Teti’s two wives they did not expect another tomb here.
Puzzled Researchers
At present, archeologists are suggesting as to why Teti might have made this tomb for his mother. Most of them are of view that like all good sons Teti too respected and loved his mother. Therefore, on her death build this huge pyramid to pay a tribute to her. After all, pharaoh or no pharaoh everyone loves his mother.

The moon was shook up by volcanoes for a much longer time than what the scientists had earlier thought of. The Japanese lunar satellite KAGUYA exposed the young dark “seas” of the volcanic rock, which took shape 2.5 million years old.
As of date, the existing belief was that lunar volcanism began immediately after the formation of the moon about 4.5 billion years ago and came to an end 3 billion years ago.
Scientists can identify the age of the lunar landscape by the craters that have been blasted by meteors. The more older the region, the more craters it contains.
Less craters can be found on the far side of the lunar maria or the basalt seas, which means they are young.
The findings will force the scientists to reconsider the early geological findings of the moon.
The findings appear in the November 2008 issue of journal Science.
